1、托福实战语法系列说到语法大家似乎都觉得十分基础，似乎经历了这么多年的锤炼语法什么的都是小意思啦，不过虽然不是什么高大上，其实使用的时候却或多或少有些小失误，而小小的失误带来的后果可能还不是那么小。所以小编这里带大家再一次系统的回顾下托福语法，希望大家尽早避免浅显的失误，发挥出自己应有的水平哦。托福语法重点（一）句子不完整(Fragments)Fragments 指的是一些句子虽然以大写开头标点结尾，却缺少主语或动词的情况。Examples:1. Where there were mice and cockroaches.2. A movie that inspires deep emotion
2、s.3. Analyzing the characters motives.两种修改方式：一、将 fragment 作为完整句子的一个部分。Corrected sentence:1. Peter left the apartment where there were mice and cockroaches.2. I went to see “The Silver Star,” a movie that inspires deep emotions.3. Analyzing the characters motives is central to understanding a novel.二
3、、增加一个表达完整意义的主语、动词或其他成分。Corrected sentence:1. This is where there were mice and cockroaches.2. A movie that inspires deep emotions is rare.3. Analyzing the characters motives is important.托福语法重点（二）连写句（Run-on Sentences）Run-on Sentences（连写句）指的是两个主句之间不用连接词或错用标点的句子。连写句会给阅读造成不少麻烦。eg. My sister loves to da
4、nce she is very good at it. 修改连写句的不同方法：一、把连写句分为两个分别的句子。Run-on sentence: My sister loves to dance she is very good at it.Corrected sentence: My sister loves to dance. She is very good at it.Run-on sentence: Jim showed us his ticket someone gave it to him.Corrected sentence: Jim showed us his ticket.
5、Someone gave it to him.二、用并列连词（coordinating conjunction）和逗号连接连写句的各个部分。常用的并列连词有：and, but, for, nor, or, so, yet.Run-on sentence: My sister loves to dance she is very good at it.Corrected sentence: My sister loves to dance, and she is very good at it.Run-on sentence: She agreed to chair the meeting sh
6、e didnt come.Corrected sentence: She agreed to chair the meeting, but she didnt come.三、用从属连词（subordinating conjunction）连接连写句的各个部分。常用的从属连词有 after, although, as, because, before, if, since, unless, until, when, whereas, while.Run-on sentence: My sister loves to dance she is very good at it.Corrected s

8、e: Gordon laughed at Sandys joke; it was funny.Run-on sentence: I thought he was here I was wrong.Corrected sentence: I thought he was here; I was wrong.托福语法重点三主谓一致（Subject-verb Agreement）5.集合名词在使用时要注意有一致的谓语动词。集合名词表示一个集体，如：committee, herd, board of directors。美式英语中的集合名词通常是单数。Correct: The committee is
9、 made up of twelve people.Correct: The jury has not arrived at a verdict.也就是说，当你把集合名词看做一个整体单位时，应该用单数动词。然而，当强调行为的主体是集合中的个人，即强调个人的行为时，则可以这样写：Awkward: The committee were divided in their opinions.Awkward: The jury have been listening to the tapes for two days.不过这样的句子听起来是不舒服的，你可以通过把 committee 换成 committee members, 把 jury 换成 jury members 来进一步修改。
