I have ever worked with him.,三、关系副词引导的定语从句,关系副词可代替的先行词是时间、地点或理由的名词,在从句中作状语。,1. 关系副词when, where, why 的含义相当于 “介词+ which” 结构,因此常常和“介词+ which”结构交替使用。例如:,(1)我仍然记得我参军的那一天。,I still remember the day.,On that day I joined the army.,I still remember the day when I joi
11、ned the army.,I still remember the day on which I joined the army.,或,(2) 这就是我们去年住的房屋。,This is the house.,We lived in it last year.,This is the house where we lived last year. 或,This is the house in which we lived last year. 或,This is the house which we lived in last year.,Do you know the reason why

13、st year.,vt.,vi.,我仍然记得我入团的那一天。,我仍然记得我们一起度过的那一天。,(2),I still remember the day when I joined the League.,I still remember the day that / which we spent together.,四、判断关系代词与关系副词,用关系代词还是关系副词完全取决于从句中的谓语动词。及物动词后面无宾语,就必须要求用关系代词;而不及物动词则要求用关系副词。,This is the mountain village where I stayed last year.,这是我去年待过的山
14、村。,Ill never forget the days (which/that) I spent together with you.,我永远不会忘记与你共度的日子。,五、限制性、非限制性定语从句的区别,1. 限制性定语从句是先行词在意义上不可缺少的定语,如果去掉,主句的意思就不完整或失去意义。这种从句和主句的关系十分密切,写时不用逗号分开。限制性定语从句中作宾语的关系代词常可省略。What is the name of the tall woman who is standing there?站在那边的那个高个子女人叫什么名字?Toronto is a city (that) Ive al
15、ways wanted to visit.多伦多是我常想去参观的一个城市。,2.非限制性定语从句和主句关系不十分密切,只是对先行词作些附加的说明,如果去掉, 主句的意思仍然清楚。这种从句和主句之间往往用逗号分开,一般不用that引导。非限制性定语从句中,关系词不可省略。Rome, which I paid a visit to last year, is a fantastic city. 我去年参观过罗马,这是一个非常棒的城市。Yesterday I met Professor King, who came from the University of London. 昨天我遇见了金教授,他
16、从伦敦大学来。,3. 大多数限制性定语从句和非限制性定语从句的先行词往往为某一个词或短语,而非限制性定语从句的先行词也可以是整个主句,此时非限制性定语从句常由which引导。A middle-aged woman killed her husband, which frightened me very much.一个中年女子杀害了其丈夫,这事令我十分恐惧。分析:从语境可知,令我恐惧的内容应为中年女子杀害了其丈夫这件事。此时由which引导非限制性定语从句,指代前面一句话的内容。,4. 关系代词whom在限制性定语从句中可用who来代替,但在非限制性定语从句中不可用who来代替。This is
17、the girl whom/who I met in the street.这是我在街上遇到的女孩。关系代词whom在限制性定语从句中作宾语,可以用who代替。,The young man made a new girlfriend, whom he wanted to impress.这个小伙子新交了一个女朋友,他想给她留下深刻印象。关系代词whom在非限制性定语从句中作宾语,不可以用who代替。,六、as 和which在引导非限制性定语从句时的相同点和不同点1. 相同点: as和which都可以指代整个句子的内容。The meeting was put off, as/ which was
