(1)There is a foreigner coming to our school tomorrow. (2)There is nothing left in the room. 2Unfortunately ,a number of students actually kill themselves.(阅读理解第一段第五句)不幸地是,很多学生自杀了。(1)A number of students are fond of music. (2)

、The number of the students in my class is 52. (1)Its strange that you should trust Jane. (2)Its no wonder that youve achieved so much success. (3)It turned out that our team won the game. (4)It matters a great deal to

、her what other people think of her. appe

、ar,hide,gather 均不符合文意。7B 这里仍然是孩子想像的内容,句意为“如果他们买得起金窗子,那他们一定还有其他的好东西。 ”8A other 别的;another 另一个;others 是代词,相当于 other名词,不能用做定语;the other 意思是“别的所有的”。从上下文看 A 项符合这里的意思。9C 此处在段落结构和意义方面是个转折,结合第一段“他每天要在日出前起床”以及下文中出现的“the afternoon”分析,这里应该选用 morning。10D 小男孩很想出去看看那个有金窗户的地方,这次父亲让他留在家里,对他来说是个“机会”。right 权利;way 途径;

14D in bad need of.

、d by.”,这里 a brokendown fence的意思是“一段断裂、倒地的篱笆”。 17A 能与 very 和 age 同时搭配的只有 close to。 由第三段第二行“their only purpose is to prepare students to pass exams”可知。 由文章第二段第一句“.,they dont help them in any way.”
