4、d a passage in limited time.2.Ss can express their opinions under teachers guidance.Emotional objective:Ss can enhance their awareness of Part 4 important and difficult points Help ss thoroughly understand the passage.Help ss master two kinds of reading skills-skimming and scanning and learn to appl
5、y them in daily use.Part 5 Teaching methods and teaching toolsAccording to the new teaching theories- to make students the real-masters and the teacher as a director,Ill try to use the task-based teaching method and communicative teaching method. For students, they will learn English well through ex
6、perience, discussion,and feedbackThen, I will use multimedia, pictures and blackboard as my teaching tools.Part 6 Teaching procedureIn order to achieve the teaching aims mentioned above, I decide to guide students in six steps.Step 1 Warming up Play the video(enjoy the song or guessing game / a time
7、 machine)Brainstorming (问题)The purpose is to inspire their former knowledge and draw their attention to the topic.Step 2 Dealing with the new wordsBefore reading, I would like explain son new words such as :So by doing this, I can help ss to solve the obstacles in the passage and make my ss go smoot
8、hly on the next reading.Step 3 Reading for the information: skimming and scanningIn this step, I will use the task-based language teaching method,which can give students a clear and specific purpose while skimming and scanning the passage.Task 1:General ideaThe students will be asked to just glance
9、at the title to guess what the text will talk about,and then they read the passage quickly and check it.They will discuss it in groups.Task 2:main idea of each paragraphI will get students to find out the main idea of each paragraph and then ask them to choose a reporter to share their opinions with
10、 the whole class.Para1:Para2:Para3:During this activity, I will also give them some guidance to practice the reading strategies. I will ask them you neednt read the passage word by word or sentence by sentence.You just focus on the top sentence which always lies in the first or last sentence in the
11、paragraph.Step 4 Reading for comprehensionIn this step,students should not only have a high speed of reading,but also have a correct understanding of details.Therefore, Ill get sss to read the passage again and answer the some detailed question on the screen.(questions: How ,what ,why ? /complete th
12、e table/Fill in the blanks)Step5 Consolidation Language is learned by communicating.Its my job to create an atmosphere for ss to use the language.Here I design two activities.Activity 1: Retelling I will show some photos with key words on the screen,Ss are asked to retell the passage .Its a good way
13、 to review and summarize what they learned in this lesson.Activity2:DiscussionI will get ss to make a discussion about (问题) in groups and give reasons.Through discussion,ss will train their oral English and express their critical and deep thought.I will also ask ss to remember one sentence to catch
14、the emotional aims.Step 6 Homework1.Write a composition of 100words about their ideas of (主题).I think this homework will help ss to consolidate this class,especially the emotional aims.
