4、ncyChongqing Normal university is located in No.12,Tianchen road of Chongqing Shapingba district. The International Students Office, conducts administration and provides services to the international students of Chongqing Normal University. The administrative affairs of the office including consulta
5、tion,admissions, registration, academics, visa and residence permit applications, etc. The Inteinational Students Office serves the students with campus accommodations, extra-curricular activities, accidental and emergency issues, etc We will wholeheartedly for your service, and try our best to meet
6、 every students needs and desires.3、ArrivalThe Chongqing International Airport is about 24 kilometers away from Chongqing Normal University campus. If you have contacted us before you arrive at Chongqing and have told us the plane information,the International Studentes Office will arrange cars to p
7、ick you up at the airport, or you can choose several kinds of public transportation from there to the campus.3.1 TaxiAt the gate of arrival, you can take a taxi to the Gate of Chongqing Normal University. Usually, the expense for the trip is about RMB 60 Yuan.3.2 SubwayAt the gate of arrival, you ca
8、n find the Entrance of the Line 3, following the route marking,then tranship Line 1 at the Lianglukou station ,got off the subway when it is Shapingba Station,you can arrive at the shool gate if you following the route marking.4、Basical living facilities4.1 Financial servicesWe suggest that you shal
9、l redeemed for a certain amount of RMB cash when you arrived at Chongqing airport. There is a bank provide currency exchange service at the exit of the airport. In the absence of large consumption, the amount of hundreds of RMB should be a reasonable choice ,carrying large amounts of cash is also an
10、 unsafe factor.Bank of China in Chongqing provide foreign exchange services, if you have foreign currency cash can easily exchange to RMB. Many international credit card could be used at the ATM in China, but the VISA and Master Card is the most common, other types of ARDS(AmericanExpress/Diners/Dis
11、covery/JCB,etc.) is relatively rare.Therefore, we recommend that you carry VISA card in China.There is Bank of China outside the East Gate of Chongqing Normal University can handle the exchange or saving business of both RMB and foreign currency(including cash and deposit travelers checks, etc.).Ple
12、ase dont literally exchange money in the street, so as to avoid economic losses. You should show your passport before you get the money. If you have some specific problems, you can seek advice to the bank. There are some ATM in campus such as Industrial and Commercial bank of China ,Communications B
13、ank of China. Surrounding the campus there are some bank operating points such as the Bank of China, Construction Bank of China, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Traffic Bank of China, Merchants Bank of China, they can handle RMB and all kinds of foreign currencies deposits and withdrawals.
14、You should take your passport if you want to open accounts. In these Banks, you can deposited into the foreign currency like pound, HK dollar, Euro, Japanese yen, Canadian dollar, Australian dollar(a total of 7)directly.4.2 AccommodationChongqing Normal University provides apartment for internationa
15、l students specifically, the apartment is in the young teachers building and the no.22 foreign teachers building in the campus. Graduate students can live in apartment, undergraduates usually live Chinese students dormitory, please comply with the requirements of the relevant accommodation during th
16、e period of accommodation. Detailed regulations on student accommodation can refer to Appendix1 of the International students can also live off-campus, but they must deal with the formalities that register to the police station where belong the area they living in accordance with provisions. Remind
17、everyone here, when you live off-campus, you must assure reliable source of housing information, lease complete legal formalities, presid over and make room rental license to the local police station for the record, students can also show the related to the local residents committees for the record
18、registration. In a word, students should ensure that the procedures for renting an apartment is complete, legitimate and reliable. International students office will offer you some off-campus housing information, students in need can consult relevant teachers. International students living in the sc
19、hool student apartment should be paid in time as stipulated about the relevant management of accommodation. Defaulting rate will produce delaying payment of 5% more ,we will cancel the qualification of living in campus for serious one. If the students check-out, the fee of apartment will accommodati
20、on and settlement until returning key. Students living off-campus should also be paid their rent in time, lest produce unnecessary legal disputes.Specially, many students(especially in the case of students living off-campus)will often change their address and contact details during the study, in thi
21、s case you must remember to tell international office your new address, phone number and E-mail, because the office will often give important notice to students, we need to contact with you in case of an emergency. The office will keep secret for your contact information.4.3 DietWe believe that you have tasted Chinese food before you come China. In Chongqing you will have more choices. There are 3 students canteen in ShaP
23、ingBa campus of Chongqing Normal University: the first student canteen, the second student canteen and the third canteen. International office will issue a certification for you ,then you can deal with meal card in the service center of the first canteen, the expense of the card is 20 yuan ,and you
24、must top-up at least 80 yuan for the first time. The meal card can used in all of the 3 canteens, you can use cash in a few places. Fortunately, the restaurants are very close to foreignal students apartment.In addition to the students canteen in the school campus ,there are a lot of restaurants aro
25、und the school campus you can choose: some small restaurants at the back door of school offers a variety of cooking and pasta, Sanxia square opposite the school gate have more choices, shopping malls, such as Wangfujing , New Century, Jiamao shopping malls,Huanghuaxinjiyuan, and so on,all the malls
26、have places for dining, provides a rich Chinese food and western food, fast food and a buffet, there are also rich in chongqing characteristics and flavor hot pot, spicy pot restaurants and so on.You can choose according to your own tasted and needs.We especially want to remind is please dont direct
27、 drinking tap water without treatment, it can drink at least after boiled. Due to differences in health standards, foreigner direct drinking tap water may cause discomfort. 28、, please be sure to pay attention to the composition of the food you eat.4.4 ShoppingThere are some stores in campus, you could buy some basic daily necessities, snacks and so on. Around the school, there are a lot of small shops, clothing stores, etc. If you want more choices, you can go to the San
29、xia square which is nearest school, there are a lot of large shooping malls, such as New Century, Wangfujing, Jiamao ,Huayu, etc, you could find many clothes, daily necessities and electrical appliances inside them.There are also many large supermarkets ,such as Carrefour ,Yonghui ,New century, Bofe
30、ng lotus, etc. Beside, there are some large electronics stores, such as Saibo digital square, Suning appliance, Shangshe house appliances, etc. You can find almost all you need here.4.5 Network servicesThe dormitory has the interface of the Internet, it will be very convenient. You can also surf the
31、 Internet in computer center, library, or Internet Bars outside school. We will publish a large amount of information on the Internet, some of them is very important to you ,youd better browse it often .In the dormitory， you could log in the campus network as long as you are correctly connected to I
32、nternet, and select the “obtain and IP address automatically” and “obtain DNS server address automatically” in the Internet protocol(TCP/IP) properties. If you need to browse the domestic and international webside, you could take the certification which given by international office and your passpor
33、t to the school information network center (room 305,complex building, next to the library) to do the account opening formalities. After open the account, you could install the software named Netkeeper2.5，then buy a top-up card and recharge your account. After doing this,you could use the Internet.
34、Prepaid card is charged according to the flow of information, you can choose different class package according to your own requirements. International office will arrange the student assistants to help you to finish this if you are use the Internet in campus first time. In addition, the wireless Int
35、ernet service is covered the campus, if you use your laptop, you could enjoy the Internet free as long as you have a wireless network card. Many public places outside the campus are also covered the infinite network services, so the network service is very convenient.4.6 Communication the postal ser
36、vice4.6.1 Phone serviceIn order to ensure that students use mobile phone, and ensure smooth information for international students in China ,it is best to use mobile phone card. Youd better use Chinese phone card. You can buy a card and deal with relevant service according your need in China Telecom
37、, China Mobile or China Unicom. Note that when you use your mobile phone in the classroom , library and other public places ,you should placed the phone in mute or vibration condition ,so as not to disturb others.4.6.2 The postal serviceThere is a post office near our school. Chinese postal mail roo
38、m in campus is near the gate of school, you can deal with all kinds of postal services.*If you live in campus apartment, the postal room will give you a call to tell you whats sent to you when someone send you important mails.(eg. letters, parcels or remittance, etc.)* If its a registered mail, plea
39、se take your valid certificate (student ID card or passport) directly to the mailroom to receive.* If its parce, please take your valid certificate (student ID card or passport) to the mailroom to receive “the notice”, and then take your certificate and the notice to the post office to receive packa
40、ge.* If its remittance, please take your valid certificate (student ID card or passport),to get “order” in the mailroom then take your certificate and the order to the post office remittance. 44、d city name. 4.7 Transportation4.7.1 The traffic in the cityThere are a lot of travel around our school, including buses, taxis, subways and so on ,it will be very convenient and quick. Due to the fast development of Chongqing ,the bus lines and bus stops will change often ,to take righ line to trav
45、el depends on yourself to observe and mastered. You can query specific way by every bus routes in Chongqing bus website:Http:/C You can handle the municipal transportation IC card, it will be convenient and cheaper to using this card to take bus and subway. You should take care of yourself when you
46、in the bus or taxi. Pay special attention to keep your passpost and property ,so as to avoid loss.It is more convenient for students to take a taxi, taxi is general service day and night. Fare calculated on renting the mileage, 1.80 yuan per km. There is a TAXI sign lights in cab roof, and the drive
47、rs photo, name uniand aupervision telephone will put on a card above the car dashboard. ”FOR HIRE” sign will in front of the car. The driver will give you a invoice.
