But do they have a happier childhood than you or I did? It's difficult to look back on one's own childhood without some element of nostalgia (怀旧的). I have four brothers and sisters, and my memories are all about being with them, playing board games on the living room floor, or spending days in the street with the other neighborhood children, racing up and down on our bikes, or exploring the nearby woods. My parents scarcely appear W1in these memories, except as providers either of meals or of severe blame W2after some particularly risky adventure. These days, in the UK at least, the nature of childhood has changed dramatically. Firstly, families are smaller, and there are far more only children. It is common for both parents to work outside the home and there is the feeling that there just isn't time to bring up a large family, or that no P1one could possibly afford to have more than one child. As a result, today's W3boys and girls spend much of their time alone. Another major change is that youngsters today tend to spend a huge amount of their free time at home, P2inside. More than anything this is due to the fact that parents worry far more 3than they used to about real or imagined dangers, so they wouldn't dream of letting their children play outside by themselves. Finally, the kind of toys children have and the way they play is totally different. Computer and video games have replaced the board games and more W4interesting activities of my childhood. The irony (令人啼笑皆非的事情) is that so many ways of playing games are called “interactive”. The fact that you can play electronic games on your own further increases the sense of loneliness felt by many young people today.SDo these changes mean that children today have a less relaxing childhood W5than I had? I personally believe that they do, but perhaps every generation feels exactly the same. 4.What is the purpose of the direct question given in the first paragraph?A.To get people's attention and lead in the topic.B.To gather people's opinions on childhood.C.To show who the passage is written for.D.To compare the childhood lives of two generations. 5.Which is NOT a reason for the changes?A.Families are smaller today.B.Parents worried too much about their children.C.Toys can be played by children alone at home.D.It's too dangerous to play outside. 利用排除法,根据第三段“Firstly, families are smaller,”“.more than they used to about real or imagined dangers.”以及第四段中“the kind of toys children have and the way they play is totally different.” 6.What has the writer focused on in the fourth paragraph? A.Young people today shouldn't play electronic games.B.Some games that young people play today aren't really good.C.Computer and video games have replaced the board games.D.Board games are much more interesting than computer games. 根据第四段“The irony is that so many ways of playing games are called ‘interactive’. The fact that you can play.increases the sense of loneliness felt by many young people today”可知。7.The writer's attitude towards the childhood changing is .4A.approving B.unconcernedC.objective D.optimistic答案:C 推理判断题。 轻松的P重 点 短 语1.bring up 培养;呕吐;提出2.a huge amount of 大量的(修饰不可数名词)S句 式 仿 写原文:The fact that you can play electronic games on your own further increases the sense of loneliness felt by many young people today.(同位语从句)译文:你可以自己玩电子游戏的事实增加了当今青少年的孤独感。 The thought came to him that the enemy had escaped from the city. [2016·山东实验中学质检] Scientists and educators in the US and China say it's important to introduce very young children to new technologies. 1 They say that with the right approach, children learn not to be frightened of abstract thinking.Even before children learn to read and write, they can manipulate-move and control images. 2 Mitchel Resnick is codeveloper of a codelearning program called Scratch Jr. He says that is exactly what programming is all about.“Each block tells the character what to do. You snap the blocks together, and you've made a computer program. 3 This block make the cat go to the right. This one makes the cat jump. By snapping them together I make a computer program that makes it move and then jump.”Parents decide how much time their children can spend using modern technology. But Sandra Calvert, director of the Children's Digital Media Center at Georgetown University, says it's all around us. “ 4 Just as it's a worry that there may be too much screen time, there is also a concern that our children will be left behind if they don't know how 5to use the technologies that are going to shape the 21st century careers, jobs and how we are going to succeed as a nation.”Children between the ages of four and 15 use tools and machines at socalled“maker spaces”in Beijing. The maker space basically serves as an openaccess workshop. 5 The young people are part of the socalled“maker movement,”a doityourself community connecting people who like to make things with their hands.A.There, children use tools and machines like 3D printers to create and build projects.B.Each block has a different behavior.C.Computer scientists perform lots of research in computer theory and systems.D.They advise developing skills from computer programming to designing electronic circuits.E.Tablet computers with touch-sensitive screens are perfect for lining up simple commands.F.The education and development of our children are extremely important.G.We live in the digital age. 4.G 根据下文中“.that there may be too much screen time.” 5.A 根据上文“The maker space basically serves as an openaccess workshop.” [2016·衡水中学调研] Uncle Tom's Cabin, written by Harriet Beecher Stowe was a book that spoke against slavery. After identifying where the endangered languages were, they looked for any environmental and social or economic factors those languages might have in common, such as rugged terrain or rapid population growth. “We found that at the global scale, language speaker declines are strongly linked to economic growth-that is, declines are particularly occurring in economically developed regions,” Amano said. One important implication of this new study “is that languages in the tropics and Himalayan region are likely to be increasingly threatened in the W3near future, because these regions still have many local indigenous languages (土语) with a small number of speakers, and at the same time are experiencing rapid economic growth,” Amano said.Economic growth may endanger languages for a variety of reasons. For instance , speakers of endangered languages may view another more dominant P1 W4language as offering economic opportunities, and thus forego their own languages. There are other important factors that might endanger languages, W5the researchers said. For instance, policies regarding how languages are used and taught in schools can be very different among countries and even within each country, and these factors may explain more detailed patterns in language endangerment.Amano suggested it could be possible to forecast future threats to linguistic diversity. “There exists detailed information on projected future Schanges in the environment, economies and climates,” Amano said. “Using such information, together with the findings of this study and further analysis, we would like to understand what will happen to the world's languages, where it 6will happen and which languages will be threatened in particular . ”P2本文讲述的是导致世界上近 7000种语言面临着绝迹的因素。5.The language of Ainu is mentioned in Paragraph 1 in order to tell us that .A.Japanese is new seriously threatenedB.few people speak Japanese in the worldC.Japanese is made up of many languagesD.it is most likely to disappear in the future答案:D 推理判断题。 6.What may endanger the languages most according to Amano?A.The diversity of society.B.The decline of the population.C.The development of economy.D.The improvement of the environment. 7.The writer shows us the reasons that languages are endangered by .A.offering some examplesB.performing some experimentsC.telling some interesting storiesD.making a list of important facts答案:A 推理判断题。 8.It can be inferred from the last paragraph that .A.the study is very important to languagesB.world's languages are developing rapidlyC.it is rather hard for us to protect languagesD.future threats to languages can be predicted答案:D 推理判断题。由文章最后一段首句话“Amano suggested it could be possible to forecast future threats to linguistic diversity.” Amano suggested it could be possible to forecast future threats to linguistic diversity.(suggest的用法)译文:Amano 暗示,有可能预测未来威胁到语言多样化的因素。 The expression on his face suggested that he was very angry. Ⅲ.短文改错(建议用时 8′)[2016·济南一中质检]I'm Li Hua, a student from Class 6, an eleventh grader in our school.
