2、th kids a breeze. The latest additions being a three-week long “Kids Fest“, and a new cluster of shops specially for kids. In fact, Changi Airport was named one of the best by website “Flying with Kids“ for the facilities offered to travellers with small children. The website applauded the availabil
3、ity of parents rooms (where parents can prepare milk, change diapers or breastfeed their babies) and dayrooms at Changi Airport. Besides these facilities, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has also introduced other facilities at the airport, including a childrens play area, gardens wh
4、ich allow children to get up close with nature, xbox gaming consoles and a movie theatre to keep children of all ages entertained. CAAS also organizes events at Changi Airport that help keep these young travellers occupied, such as the recent Changi Games held in conjunction with the Olympics. Comic
5、 action hero Spiderman has performed stunts, while Barney, the purple dinosaur, has made a special appearance at the airport. And for three weeks from 28th October 2004, CAAS has organised Changi Airports first ever Kids Fest, which will keep the young travellers entertained while they are transitin
6、g at Changi Airport with their parents. The event areas at Terminals 1 & 2 will be turned into a wonderland of sorts for children. They can learn all about chocolate-making, or play with the “Hot Wheels“ cars and “Barbie“ dolls available at the event areas. Kids Fest also coincides with the recently
7、 completed cluster of children related shops. CAAS has grouped the children-themed shops in Terminal 2 together, forming a cluster of outlets close to one another to make it easier for travellers to locate shops that sell toys, children teaching aids and confectionary. A similar cluster will be intr
8、oduced in Terminal 1 as part of its upgrading. “At Changi Airport, we aim to cater to the needs of all travellers. While we have introduced free Internet access PCs and a wireless network in the airport to cater to the needs of tech-savvy road warriors, we have not neglected the segment of traveller
9、s who fly with young kids. An example is the introduction of diaper changing stations even in the male restrooms. We will continue to anticipate the needs of travellers so as to create a memorable travel experience at Changi Airport,“ said Mr Wong Woon Liong, Director-General of Civil Aviation, CAAS
10、. In conjunction with Kids Fest, CAAS also treated 12 children from Singapores Children Aid Society to a tour of the transit facilities at Changi Airport. They also got to see a sculptor carve a Merlion from a 1.5 tonne block of chocolate. This delicious-looking artwork will be on display at the Sweet Treats shop in the transit area of Changi Airport Terminal 2 until 18 November 2004.
