8、n which,【知识链接】定语从句1.关系副词when,where,why 引导的定语从句。(1)when 指时间,在从句中作时间状语。例如:We will never forget the year when SARS broke out in China.我们永远不会忘记中国爆发SARS的那一年。(2)where指地点,在从句在作地点状语。例如:Shanghai is the place where she was born.上海是她的出生地。(3)why 指原因,在从句中作原因状语。例如:This is the reason why I did it.这就是我做这件事的原因。,2.“介

9、词关系代词”引导的定语从句在“介词关系代词”引导的定语从句中,关系代词只能用which或whom。先行词指物时,用which;先行词指人时,用whom。在这个结构中,介词的使用原则是:(1)根据从句中谓语动词的搭配习惯。如:This is the book on which I spent 10 yuan./for which I paid 10 yuan.这就是我花10元钱买的那本书。,(2)根据先行词的搭配习惯。如:I still remember the day on which I first came to this school.我仍然记得我第一次来这所学校的那一天。(3)表“所有

10、”关系或“整体中的一部分”时,用of。The old woman has two sons,both of whom are doctors.这个老太太有两个儿子,两个儿子都是医生。,3.关系副词和“介词which”的关系关系副词when,where,why的含义相当于“介词which”,因此常常和“介词which”转换。This is the room where(in which)I lived last year.这就是去年我住的房间。4.关系副词和关系代词的判断方法关系副词和关系代词的选择是根据先行词在定语从句中作的成分。若是作状语,则用关系副词或“介词which”;若是作主语或宾语,
