What impressed me most is the traditional kite-fighting tournament. I am always thinking what the kite implies in the movie.
11、 Here is my understanding. The multiple symbol image: the kite AmirFirst, as for Amir, the kite symbolizes his happy childhood, the innocent friendship between him and Hassan. Flying kites is what he enjoys most as a child, not only because it is the only way that he connects fully with his father, w

Though Hassan was shorter and younger than Amir,he would do anything for Amir. He often stood up bravely

So the kite reminds Amir of his memory of his loyal friend, Hassan and their innocent childhood.Second, the kite reflects his pursue for bravery under the pressure of tradition. In

In the eyes of people in Kabul, the kite-fighting tournament is just like a fierce war, and the kite is regarded as the weapon for the “warrior”. At the age of 12, though born with cowardice an

In his life, he experienced his fathers ignorance and was bullied by the street bullies. Naturally, the only kite flying and dancing in the sky became his bravery proof. He prove

Amir despicably betrayed Hassan by turning a blind eye when his friend was in jeopardy. When he witnessed the horror that because of Hassans refusal to hand out t

Maybe after he died, his spirit would return to the motherland, “the kite” would fall onto the land of Afghanistan.Otherwise, in the movie, there is also an old issue. That is, the westerners demonize the Arab countries as uncivilized, sava
27、ge and backward countries. The demonized description of The Taliban, such as the bugger, the homicidomania, and the bloody sheep head seems to suggest that the Arab world is a barbarous society. In the end, Amir took Sohrab to America, lived a happy and comfortable life. They beautify America as the

There is a lot of things need thinking. All the words above are my own understanding about the movie. In fact, after watching this movie, I hope one day, I can get a chance to read the novel to deepen my understanding.
