3、ed and divorced people in USA over a span of 30 years from 1970 to 2000 and the overall marital status of US adults in 1970 and 2000.,The first chart compares the number of marriages and divorces in the US between 1970 and 2000. According to this graph, married Americans remained the same and also t

4、he highest level, 2.5million in both 1970 and 1980, and then the number began to decline to roughly 2.3million and continued this downward trend until 2000, when only 1 million residents in the US were married. On the other hand, apart from a sharp rise in the number of divorces in the 1970s, the ne

5、xt two decades witnessed the falling trend, from just below 1.4 million in 1980, to a little more than 1 million in 1990 andexactly 1 million in 2000.,The second chart is more precise about the different marital status of the Americans between 1970 and 2000. As shown in the graph, the percentage of

6、married people by far outnumbered that of Americans who were in other marital status within 30 years, but the period has experienced the declining trend in the proportion of married population, from about 70% in 1970 to nearly 60% thirty years later, and of the widowed from around 8% to 5%. Only 40% of 40-49 years old and 18% of over 49 years old are studying for career reasons in their late adulthood.,Conversely, the first chart also

21、 shows that study stemming from interest increases with age. We can see that there are only 10% of under 26 studying out of interest. The percentage increase slowly till the beginning of the fourth decade and then increase dramatically in late adulthood. At the same time, nearly the same number of 4

22、0-49 years old study for career and interest. However 70% of over 49 years old study for interest in comparison to 18% studying for career reasons in that age group.,The second graph shows that employers support is maximum( approximately 60%) for the students under 26 years old. It drops rapidly to

23、32% in the third decade of life and then increase in the late adulthood up to about 44%.,From these two charts, it is clear that employers are most willing to offer the youngest group support because this group is career-focused and has greatest potential, but the group aged 30-39 has the lest help.,Thank you !,
