24、ace ensures a data communication path between the D013 and the host CPU. By choosing a specific MODE-pin combination, the Host Interface follows one of several host interface definitions: Eight bit parallel bus. This is the preferred host interface, since it de-livers the highest performance. This t
25、ype of host interface has been widely proven in the D113- Product family; driver software written for the D113 can be reused for D013 with almost no changes. Serial Line Interface. Using serial lines (basically one TX for transmit, one RX for receive) yields the lowest count of required pins for the
26、 host interface. In principle, this interface can perform all functional-ity. However, the serial communication requires more time for com-pletion of an access to the MVB controller. We therefore recommend this interface for “simple applications“, only: for example less than 10 or 20 typical PD port
27、s. MVB ControllerThe MVB Controller manages the communication “host to traffic memory“ and “MVB to traffic memory“. Host and MVB accesses are internally arbitrated and prioritized in order to keep the real time requirements on the MVB line. One MODE- pin selects EMD- or ESD+ - compatibility for the
28、MVB encoder and decoder. By this way, there is no need to take care about the EMD/ESD decision within software. All relevant communication classes are supported: Class 1: Process Data Class 2 and 3: Message Data Class 4: Bus Administration (Option)PLDThe host interface as well as the MVB controller a

This part can be reprogrammed /redefined without hardware change.Traffic MemoryThe Traffic Memory stores all data transferred to and from the MVB. The capacity is 1Mbyte; this includes all 4096 PD logical addres

Also contained are the RX and TX queue for Message Data traffic and the Bus Administrator list. duagon GmbH Badenerstr. 21 CH-8953 Dietikon duagon d-001030-006532 Page 7/46MVB TransceiversThe Transceivers drive the signa

The MVB bus lines and the other electronics are galvanically insulated, allowing for the MVB long cables running through EMI prone areas.DC/DC ConverterThe DC/DC Converter generates th

41、MVB ClientThe host system contains the “MVB Client“. The customers application accesses the “MVB Client“ through the standardized API for process and message data (see Layer 7 API Interface of IEC61375, enhanced by some proprietary functions). The D013 has to be reset during power up / power down or any other undervoltage condition. For normal operation, /RESET must be driven high.In addition to this, we highly r
44、ecommend the CPU watchdog trigger line to pull the reset line active. This will safely stop all MVB activity on the MVB after a watchdog trigger.MODE20The MODE pins define the general behavior of the D013. During power up or reset, the D013 is completely passive; during this time, the D013 scans the
45、 MODE pins. After releasing reset, the value of the MODE signals is latched in-ternally and defines the behavior of the D013. Even though a later change of the MODE- pins does not influence the D013 operation, we still recommend to hard wire the MODE pins. This ensures safe signal status even during
