1、The differences between Chinese and Western dietary culturesGood morning everyone.Today I am so gold to be here to make a presentation.Now let me introduce myself.My name is Zhong Bin bin.My major is biology.I cant tell you how old i am,because its a secret of a ladys age.I come from ZheJiang.I have

2、 so many hobbies,such as cooking and eating.Use a word to describe,I am a “food aficionado”(chi huo).So,my topic is the differences between Chinese and Western dietary cultures.Diet is the base of living,with no exception in China or the West.Dietary cultures is an important part of the national cul

3、ture.Because of the differences in living environments,customs and value concepts China and the West have formed their own different dietary cultures.I will analyze it from tableware,dietary concepts,dietary structure and cooking way.How to distinguish Chinese food and Western food?The simplest appr

4、oach is to compare the tableware.As Chinese,we always use chopsticks and spoon while the Westerners more like to use knife,fork and spoon.Not only tableware,the dietary concepts between China and West is very different.As a Chinese saying goes, Min yi shi wei tian(The masses regard sufficient food a

5、s their heaven).It shows the importance of eating in the mind of Chinese people.Chinese people take a good meal as a pursuit of art of beauty.They try their best to perfect a dish not only from color but also from incense and taste.Beauty appearance is a pursuit of art from a visual aspect and it co

6、ntributes to a mental enjoyment.Whats more, Chinese people regards taste as the most important thing.Next,lets read a piece of news-Red swamp crayfish have caused great disaster in England.A expert said,the government should let some Chinese come here,because there was nothing that Chinese couldnt e

7、at.There is a saying that things in the air except plane,things in the water except submarines and things with four legs except benches are Chinese peoples food.This saying is not totally in accordance with reality but it is not far away from the truth.In fact,the raw material of Chinese food is ind

8、eed rich.There are some food that Chinese people think delicious while foreigners cant accept.Such as smelly tofu,chicken toe,preserved egg,Mao Xuewang,animal innards,fermented bean curd.Just those food?No!There are some food that even most Chinese people cant imagined,like fried silkworm,fried gras

9、shopper and sea worm jelly.While the Westerners pay much less attention to eating compared with Chinese people.They pay little attention to the form and taste of a dish but focus much more on nutrition,such as protein,fat,heat,and vitamin.They analyze whether the dish has an appropriate collocation

10、of nutrition,whether the amount of calories is moderate,and whether the nutrition can be fully absorbed.Therefore,they adopt fresh raw materials and try to keep their original nutrition and taste as much as possible when they cook them.Such as salad,pasta,hamburger,beefsteak and so on.Next,I will an

11、alyze the differences of the dietary structure between Chinese and the West.Chinese dietary culture is rooted in the agricultural economy.So,Chineses food is mainly made of rice and wheat,like noodles,dumplings,steamed bread and so on.And according to investigators,the vegetables Chinese people eat

12、are more than 600 kinds six times than those of Westerners.Besides,most Chinese people dont eat meat everyday.Westerners are developed from nomadic nations,therefore they have a developed animal husbandry.In their diet meat are a requisite part and occupy a big proportion on table.They pay lots of a

13、ttention to the ingestion of animals protein and fat.Thats reason why Westerners are much stronger than Chinese people.However,on the other hand,Westerners are more easy to suffer from hypertension,hyperglycemia,hyperlipaemia and heart disease.Lets watch a short video.Now,lets see the last aspect,th

14、e differences of cooking way.First,show the use of knife.Chinese cutting is the most famous in the world.There are more than ten kinds of cutting in China,so Chinese chefs also can make beautiful engraves with the raw materials.The Westerners usually choose large pieces of raw material in their cook

15、ing.Chicken and beef steaks that are as large as palms are very common to be seem in the western countries. Second,the cooking methods between China and the West are very different.China has rich kinds of cooking methods,such asFor example,the crayfish that caused great disaster in England can be made into delicious food in ChinaThats why Chinese think its interesting to cook,while the Westerners emphasize on scientific diet and the collocation of nutrition.Western cooking style,mainly with burned, fried,stew and roast,
