3、elongs to his head,and if he cant repay it within twenty minutes,he will be killed.So he turns to his girlfriend for help.And then the film traces the three ways and their counterpart consequences of rescuing Manni.The first one:Lola fails to borrow any money,but Manni succeeds in robbing the superm
4、arket.However,Lola is shot down by the police;the second one:Lola manages to rob a bank,but Manni has a car accident;the last run:Lola gets money from a gambling joint while Manni gets the missing money back.Despite its simple plot,the film indeed contains numerous morals,among which the following f
5、our themes impress me most,that is,the truth of love between the hero and the heroine,the feminism,the importance of obeying moral ethics and the most important of all,the indifference and inhospitality of the world.In fact,I am initially astonished by what Lola does.When she found Manni,who seems n
6、ot to have a bright future, in a tight corner,she doesnt have the intention of deserting him at all and she just makes every effort to save him.For me,their love is not based on sweet words,but based on real actions.And thats why Lola takes the risk of losing her face before her father and losing he
7、r life when she robbed the bank.So in the film,we can easily conclude from the movie that true love sometimes is not so romantic but to some degree invisible.Love is not based on ephemeral enjoyment,but based on true feelings and strong actions;love is not guaranteed by verbal commitment,but ensured
8、 by the action you take when an emergency happened.Just like Lolas love for Manni in the film,its always patient and kind;it is never selfish or jealous.At the same time,the film more or less informs us that the era in which women Paper for Appreciating Cinema 3were discriminated has gone and women
9、can play the same role as men nowadays.Unlike other films in which a hero will strive to save a beauty,this film reverses the roles.In the film,it is Lola who sets out to save his boyfriend,isnt it?Whats more,in the film,Lola is portrayed as a girl who has supernatural power so that she can foresee
10、the future of all that she meets,while the hero Manni is depicted as a gangster who can do nothing and can only count on others when meeting an emergency. In a broader sense,the film intends to teach us some moral ethics.For the first time,Lola runs too quickly and ignores others feelings,and in the
11、 meantime,Manni breaks the law to get what he want,thus resulting in the final failure;for the second time,Lola still neglects others benefits and robs the bank,thus leading to the death of Manni without fail;for the third time,Lola becomes very considerate to those she meets along the way and she g
12、ains the money through her own effort,that is,in a legal way, this time,and thats why a happy ending occurs.At the beginning of the film,there is a sentence saying “After the game is before the game”.Just as the sentence indicates,our life is like a game.We will never know what will happen next and
13、life itself is not in our command.During Lolas running,many things occur unexpectedly and Lola has to change her plans frequently or she will be swallowed by time.The world is complex and unknown,and we human beings can do nothing to prevent something from taking place.After the game,we get exhauste
14、d and we die.Though we cant change the cruel world,we can make the wiser choice and solve problems in a different way.In the movie,Lola makes different options in the three runnings,but it is in the third time that she does it in a sensible wayby her own effort.The film warns us to make choices more
15、 cautiously in our lives and not to disobey the rule of the world.As far as I am concerned,short as the film is,it describes many matters in the age in which the director lives and it still has some moral instructions in modern times.I would like to point out what I think about the end of the film,f
16、or which I like pretty much.Manni manages to pay back the 100,000marks in time and Lola still has a large sum of money at hand.I initially believe that maybe Lola and Manni will live Paper for Appreciating Cinema 4happily together with that money.However,after I contemplate over this matter,I do think maybe they wont live happily if theyre living in modern times.It is known to us all that money can be evil angel and it can affect a persons conscience.So maybe their love can easily be ruined by the 100,000 marks eventually,cant it?
