语音语调知识（2） 节奏和其它语言一样，英语也有节奏。英语句子中的一个重读音节与其后面的若干非重读音节组成一个节奏组，即一拍。一句话中可以有多个节奏组。上一篇重读和非重读，是为了句子节奏做准备的。读英语句子从一个重读音节到下一个重读音节所用的时间大致相等，因此如果两个重读音节间所所包含的非重读音节少，则重读音节的元音就读的比较慢，如果所包含的非重读音节多则重读音节的元音读得会相对短些，同时非重读音节读得更快。例：The World Wide Web/ has been the most popular development/ in recent history.Both my father and my mother/ are fond of music.我们平时说英语或朗读英语时，可记住以下规则：重读音节重而慢，非重读音节快而弱；非重读音越多，读得越快；轻重相间成节奏。例：Last night,/ Lily asked me/ to go to see a film,/but I didnt come.You can find information/ about almost anything /in the world/ on these pages.
