1、1公共英语三级考试 pets3 口语:公共英语三级口语必考话题A 节部分即口头提问,是针对所给的 Topic(主题)设计出若干问题,向考生发问。它出现在考试的起始阶段和最后阶段。在这两部分中每位考生大约分别有一分钟左右的时间回答问题,大概要说十句话左右。所以不能简单地说上一两句就结束了。因为在口头提问部分不给准备时间,因此考生无论在考试前还是考试过程中都应有足够的准备。 1)事先学习使用一些表达方式给自己争取一点时间思考。常用的表达方式有:As everybody knows.。. 3、call you?Most people call me Xiao Huang.2. Where do you come from?a. I was born in Xian, which is one of the major cities in China. It used to be the capital city at one point in Chinas history.b. I come from Shanghai, but I was born in Xian. My parents moved to Shanghai when I was just 4 years old,

4、 so I really dont know much about Xian, apart from occasional summer visits to seesome good friends of the family. In fact, I dont have any relatives at all living in Xian.3. Where about is your hometown?Xian is located in Shanxi Province, which is in central China.4. Could you tell me something abo

5、ut your hometown?3a. Hmm. 。 . well, the population is about 6 million. Its famous for its historic sites, especially for the Terracotta Warriors. Xian was named the capital of China several times over many dynasties. Also, Xian is the starting point of the famous Silk Road, which was important in an

6、cient times. The weather is extremely hot in summer, about 40 degrees Centigrade, and fairly cold in the winter, about 14 degrees Centigrade below zero.b. Okay. Well, first of all, my hometown is “X”。 I was born in the city, but moved to the outskirts of the town when I was small. “X” is a fairly la

7、rge city a pretty important economic centre actually. It has a population of 3 million. Its pretty flat, and is situated right near a large lake.5. What is the climate like in your hometown?Its generally very hot in summer, about 40 degrees Centigrade. In winter, its cold about minus 14 degrees Cent

8、igrade. The spring and autumn are both mild and pleasant, with temperatures ranging from 12 to 25 degrees Centigrade. Oh, and the summer time is extremely humid as well. There are four seasons. Winter is cold and snowy; spring is short and rainy; summer is hot and humid; and autumn is beautiful.6. T

9、ell me about whats the biggest traditional festival in your country. Definitely the Spring Festival. I suppose its somewhat like Christmas in western countries. Spring Festival is the only time when all families gather together and stores and business are closed for several days. 47. Can you describ

10、e one of the main festivals celebrated in your country? National Day, which is on October 1st, is a big holiday. We get three days off and there are a lot of fireworks displays. There are large flower pictures and other types of flowers decorating the city,and some of the larger cities hold parades.

11、8. How long have you lived in Beijing?Almost 4 years now. I first came to Beijing in July 1996. Its kind of surprising that Ive already lived here for 4 years. I wasnt planning to stay for a long time, but then I got a good job in a joint venture company.9. How do you compare the climate in Beijing

12、with that in your hometown?Its about the same, except that we get a lot more snow in my hometown than we get in Beijing. I suppose it has something to do with the geography of the two cities.10. Which city, in your opinion, is the best city in China?Beijing, because its the capital of China and has

13、a very rich culture. In addition, Beijing is more beautiful than many other cities, because its the showcase of China. A lot of money has been invested in Beijing and it is a very interesting place to visit.11. Has the transport changed over the past 20 years in China? 5Yes , very much indeed. We us

14、ed to have very few bus lines years ago. Most people would use their bikes to get to places in the city. But now in big cities, there are more bus lines linking different places so it is a lot more convenient. Some cities also have subway lines so it makes traveling much faster than before. There ar

15、e also more taxis in cities and more people are also using that as a mode of transportation.12. Lets talk a little about traveling and transport. For a long trip, how do you prefer to travel? In my country, if it is a long trip, I would prefer to take a train ride. Not only is train ride more econom

16、ical, but also the time and route have shortened tremendously in the past few years. Air travel is more expensive and they are often beyond my budget.13. Lets talk about your hometown or village. What kind of place is it?My hometown is in the outskirts of Beijing. Maybe one hour travel time to get t

17、o Beijing. Fairly close I would say. The people there are mostly farmers but many young people have gone to Beijing to work. I like the place because it is very quiet. Unlike the people in big cities who are more complicated, the people of the place where I come from are usually more down to earth.1

18、4. Why do you think trains are better than buses?Trains are better because they dont encounter any traffic, whereas sometimes in the bus, we get stuck in the traffic. Also, it is always difficult to get 6on the buses during the peak hour but with the train, you can bet that the chances of getting on

19、 are always greater during the peak hour.15. What kind of parent do you intend to be?I want to have a good relationship with my child. I have seen so many kids who dont really know their own parents, and I dont want to end up like that. I do plan to be strict, but loving. I want my child to always f

20、eel comfortable to approach me, whether theyve been good or bad. Its pretty easy to tell you what kind of parent I want to be, but when I actually become a parent, Im sure Ill have to revise my ideals a bit.16. How different is your life from the lives of your parents? Its very different. I have had

21、 many more opportunities and a much more comfortable life than they had. I remember my father telling me stories about having just one egg to eat each week, and that was the highlight of his week. I cant really imagine life like that, so Im grateful that I have a better life than my parents did. I a

22、ppreciate their hard work to get us to this point in our lives.17. Who does most of the shopping in your family?Well, I do most of the grocery shopping because theres a market very close to my work. Its very convenient for me to pick up milk or eggs or what ever on my way home from work. But, my wif

23、e also enjoys shopping very much. She usually does a lot of the clothes shopping for my son and me.718. Are you a good cook?a. Yes. I learned everything from my mother who was really famous in our hometown for her cooking. I suppose she learned how to cook from her mother as well. I think thats how

24、I won my husbands heart, by being such a good cook. He really appreciates good food, and I enjoy cooking for him.b. No. Im a terrible cook. No one has ever taught me how to cook. I barely know how to boil an egg. Well, I do know how to make instant noodles, but its just a matter of pouring boiling w

25、ater on them and waiting for some time. I dont like cooking either, but I do like eating. I suppose Ill have to marry someone who is a good cook.19. Do you have a lot of friends?It depends on what you mean by “a lot”。. I do have one or two very close friends, which is all that I need. I dont have an

26、y trouble making friends, and I do have many good friends and acquaintances. But, really I feel most close to just one or two friends.20. Why did you choose software development as your major?Because Id always enjoyed working with computers and I was always good at math and logic. I was fortunate to

27、 have a computer in my home when I was in high school, and I spent quite a lot of time just playing around on the com8puter. My parents bought me all sorts of books on computer programming,and I just started to read them and pick up the ideas in them.21. When and where did you graduate? What qualifi

28、cations have you obtained? I graduated in 1995 from Beijing Science and Technology University. I have a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, and Im a licensed Professional Engineer in China.22. Which university is the best one in your country?Qinghua University is probably the best, although there

29、 are also others which are considered to be top notch. Still, Qinghua has the best international reputation, so I think most people would say its the best.23. How are you as a student?I am a very organized and highly motivated student. I study very hard, and like to constantly review my lecture note

30、s and textbooks. After each class, I re-read all my notes and refer to them in the textbook. When I encounter something Im not sure of, I make a point of finding the professor and asking him or her for further explanation. Also, I have a very good memory. Once I learn something, I remember it for a

31、very long time.24. Is there anything you dont like about your studies?9Generally I like my studies but I hate the examination system. There are too many examinations during my school years and most of the time we have to memorize lots of things in books. Im not very good at that and I find its a was

32、te of time and energy. Other than that, I quite enjoy my school time.25. What do you do for a living?Im an engineer. But my day-to-day work involves quite a lot of management. In fact,Im in charge of the Beijing branch of Motorola, and have a dozen or so engineers working under me to handle the tech

33、nical part of the work.26. What is your job? What does your job involve? Im a sales manager. Im in charge of overseeing sales operations for all of northern China,including Beijing. I have about 40 employees under me who are regional sales representatives.27. How do you like your job?I enjoy it very

34、 much. It does have its ups and downs, but really its quite a good job. I enjoy the people I work with too, which really can make or break a job. We work very well together and can trust each other to do our fair share.28. What made you decide to get into this field?10I didnt really plan to be a tea

35、cher at first, but my parents encouraged me to go into teaching. At first I really disliked it immensely. I lacked confidence and felt very insecure standing in front of a room full of students. Somehow, I made it through the first term, and managed a bit better the second. After that, I felt that I

36、 had made an impact on some of my students, and when they came to thank me for teaching them, I really was deeply touched. From that point on, I decided to work harder at preparing my classes so that I could teach them well. The following year went really well. I enjoyed my classes and the challenge

37、s of teaching. Thats when I knew that teaching was the right profession for me.29. How did you become interested in your hobby?When I was young, my father has always involved me in different activities. My father is a ping-pong coach in a high school. So I always have a chance to follow him when he

38、coached. When I was in the school, I got a chance to play with other students in other sports. So thats how I developed my skills in different sports.30. How do you spend your weekends?I usually sleep on Saturday morning if I can, study in the afternoon in the library, and go out with friends in the

39、 evening. On Sundays, I like to go shopping and just spend time walking around outside, if the weather is nice. If I dont have much money, I still like to go window shopping and I almost get as much pleasure out of that!1131. What is the most popular sport in your country? Id have to say that footba

40、ll is really the most popular sport in China. There are literally millions of crazy football fans. Whenever there is a match on TV between China and another country, you can hear loud cheers and shouts all around the city whenever China scores a goal, and loud groans and moans when the other country

41、 scores.32. How do you spend your free time?I attend training courses in the evenings. However, as a mother, I also take my son somewhere on weekends. For example, I may drive to the suburbs or the countryside around Beijing and go fishing, swimming and mountain climbing. I enjoy family life very 33

42、. Do you often go to the cinema/theatre?a. Yes. On Friday nights, I usually go and watch whatevers playing. Its kind of a family tradition that I started when my son was young.b. No. Im not really interested in the theatre. Id much rather read newspapers and watch TV than pay for the theatre.34. Wha

I dont see why I should pay money to be sad or scared, so I really dont like the tear-jerker type of films nor horror films. 12I dont mind adventure type films, just as long as they dont become horror films.35. 44、our favourite programme?a. No, I hardly watch TV at all. In fact, I dont find most programmes interesting. I think its just a waste of time watching TV.b. Yes, I like watching the news. But, I dont really watch many other shows on TV besides the news. I just dont have time to see whats on each week.

45、 Some TV shows are done in several parts. If you miss one or two episodes, youre really lost. So, because I dont watch TV that regularly, I really find that its hard to follow a series when I miss several episodes. So, I dont watch them.36. Whos your favourite film star? 46、me? I like Leonardo di Caprio. I first saw him when he starred in Titanic, and after that I was head over heels in love with him. Hes very handsome. 。. blonde hair, blue eyes. 47、t home.37. What aspect of English do you find the most difficult?Pronunciation. I wish that I could speak just like a native speaker. But, once I open my mouth,its so obvious that Im not a native English speaker. I always have trouble with “l”s and “n”s. Sometimes I confuse them. Perhaps becau13se i

48、n my dialect, we interchange them all the time. Im not even aware that Im doing this. So, I really have to concentrate when I speak English, so that Im very careful to pronounce things correctly.38. What sports are played in china?Ping pong and football are probably the most popular sports. China ha

49、s a very large following of football fans. Even though our football teams dont do well in international competitions like the World Cup, we still are crazy about football. Other sports that are played in China are badminton,volleyball , basketball, swimming, and tennis.39. What is the population control situation like in China today?Its better than before.
