1、 English interview tipsFinding a job is, at times, a full-time job. At any given moment, there are hundreds of thousands of open job listings across the United States. How do you connect with the ones that are right for you?Some jobs use salary keywords, some use words that describe specific traits

2、or assignments. Your job - in order to get a job - is to figure out which postings have keywords you should respond to (and which you should avoid). Then, you need to know what they really mean, and how to use them in your resume and cover letters.Employers often use search engine techniques to sort

3、 through resumes for the ones with the best ratio of meaningful keyword hits. Hey, youre as smart as a search engine, arent you?Here are some words to look for, and others to look out for.Keywords otherwise the situation could become worse. 8、ield adequately. 例 10:I:How long would you like to stay with this company?A:I will stay as long as I can continue to learn and to grow in my field. 、谈吐的 3P原则自我介绍时应该记住“3P 原则”:Positive(自信),Personal(个性),Pertinent(中肯)。1.信心(Confidence)代表着一个人在事业中的精神状态和把握工作的热忱以及对自己能力的正确认知。有了这样一份信心,工作起来就有热情有冲劲,可以勇往直前。谈吐自信,就

9、是要积极地进行自我肯定,让面试人充分了解你的优点与潜能。所以回答要沉着、自信(Lacks confidence and poise),而不是心神不宁(is nervous and ill at ease)。2.突出个性,就是要把自己与众不同的特点发挥出来,强调自己的专业与能力。自我介绍应简洁明了,给面试人留下思路清晰、反应快捷、逻辑性强的印象。时间不宜太长,最好控制在五分钟之内。不要一谈起自己就口若悬河,滔滔不绝,给人留下自我标榜、以自我为中心的印象。3.语气中肯,就是要实事求是,不要言过其实,夸夸其谈,也不要涉及和自己无关的事情。为了表达自己的诚意,某个问题发表完见解之后,可以附带加上一句:

10、Id like to hear your opinion. (我很想听听你的意见。) 这句话表明了你对面试人的尊敬,很容易使他(她)产生亲切感。当面试人在试探你的应聘诚意时,应该及时表态:So far as that is concerned,you must have understood my determination. (谈到这里,你一定已经明白我的决心。) 五、三类肢体语言1. Body Language (肢体语言)Most interviewers greet the applicant with a handshake. Make sure that your clasp is

11、 firm. Being jittery about the interview can result in cold, clammy hands, which create a negative impression. Therefore, make sure your hands are warm and dry. Before leaving, try to find out exactly what action will follow the interview and when it will happen. Shake hands as you say good-bye and

12、thank the interviewer for spending time with you. Show that you are confident by looking straight at the person. (和雇主要一直保持目光接触。面试时,眼睛要看着对方。直视对方说明你有自信。) 而不是 Fails to look interviewer in the e

14、ye不敢正视。3. Active Listener (做一个积极的聆听者)面试时要 Listen actively and stay calm. (对自己的事业没有安排;没有目标和理想。) 第二个大忌:Is unwilling to start at the bottom; expects too much too soon. (不愿从基层干起;要求太多。)或者 Overemphasizes money; is interested only in the best dollar offer. (只对最佳报酬感兴趣。) 第三个大

18、.第一印象很关键The outcome of the interview will depend largely on the impression you make during the first five minutes.To succeed, you must project a professional, competent and enthusiastic image. Your aim is to convince the interviewer that you would be an asset to the company. Keep the following in mi

19、nd:Be punctual.准时Do whatever it takes to arrive a few minutes early. If necessary, drive to the company the night before and time yourself. Allow extra time for traffic, parking and slow elevators.Dress right.着装合体Your clothing should be appropriate for the position youre seeking. Attire must fit wel

20、l within the office and be immaculate. If you dont know what the typical attire at the company is, call and ask! Shoes should be polished; pants/skirts and shirts pressed.Shake well.握手A firm handshake is appropriate and projects confidence. Make eye contact when you shake.Speak correct body language

21、.利用好肢体语言Send the right message by standing straight, moving confidently, and sitting slightly forward in your chair.Let the employer lead into conversations about benefits.Your focus on salary, stock options and vacation time can turn off an otherwise-interested interviewer.Be honest.诚实Tell the inte

Have you met him?“ “Her“, corrected the hiring manager. “Thats my wife“.Have your own agenda and know where the interview should be heading.This will give you confidence and help you move from one area of questioning to the next.Remem

25、ber: Most interviewers are as uncomfortable as you are. They just want the position to be filled as fast as possible.If you can put the interviewer at ease by helping things move smoothly, youll improve your chances of being hired. Remember the following:Listening skills.倾听的技巧 Listen carefully and a

26、sk questions to probe deeper into what the interviewer is telling you. Most interviewers are delightfully surprised by a question such as, “How could I help you solve the problem youve just described?“Negative statements about previous jobs or employers. NEVER make them. Instead, be diplomatic. No m

27、atter how bad your last job or boss was, theres probably something good you learned from the experience. Emphasize the positive - with a smile.The best way to avoid having a bad job interview is to prepare ahead of time.So practice, practice, PRACTICE your answers to the following questions:Please t

28、ell me about yourself. Why should we hire you? What are your plans for the next year? Two years? Five years? What do expect to get from this job? What are your biggest weaknesses? What are your biggest strengths? Why did you leave your last job? What would your former employer say about you if I cal

29、led them today? Why did you get into this line of work? What make you want to apply to this company? The interview is a two way street.Remember you are also interviewing the employer to see if you want to work for that company.You should have a list of questions in mind to ask the interviewer. Here

30、are some suggestions.What would you expect of me? What would my main responsibilities be? How would my performance be evaluated? Is there room for promotion? Would there be any travel involved with this position? Where do you see this company in two years? How would you describe your management style? How do you see me fitting into this company? Most hiring decisions are made at the first interview.How you come across in that interview could be as important as your experience and job skills.
