6、u ”“ I like you ”“ I like you ”,强调是有效地进行思想交流的重要手段之一。人们在交际过程中,为了使自己的思想能为听者或读者恰当的理解,必须突出重要的内容,这就需要运用强调的手段。,Step 2: Introduction 1. The definition,2. The methods,在现代英语中, 表示强调的方法很多:(1).在口语中可以用重读来强调; -different tones (2).在书面语中则可通过使用表示强调意义的词语来强调; -certain words (3).还可以通过使用专门的强调句式来强调。 -certain sentence str

7、uctures,Step 3: Presentation,其中“He speaks English well.”这句话,可以通过语句重音来分别对不同的词进行强调.,(1)Different tones,A: He speaks fluent Chinese.B: He speaks English well, too.,A: Do you think he is fit for the job? B: Certainly. He speaks English well.,(2) certain words,用词或短语帮助强调。,You are the very person I amlooki

8、ng for.Men dont enjoy shopping at all.What on earth are you doing?Why in the world are you alwayslate?,at all, on earth in the world,so, very, just, the only,Step 4: Explanation,【1】 用“It iswasthatwho” 句型表示强调。,(3) certain sentence structures,It is /was +被强调部分+that (who/whom) +其他成分,强调除谓语以外的句子成分,只能是 单数

9、,强调人,They will have a meeting in the hall tomorrow.It is they that/who will have a meeting in the hall tomorrow.It is a meeting that they will have in the hall tomorrow.,强调主语,强调宾语,They will have a meeting in the hall tomorrow.,强调地点状语,It is in the hall that they will have a meeting tomorrow.,强调时间状语,I

10、t is tomorrow that they will have a meeting in the hall., It is true that he once went toAmerica.It was at 8 oclock that hecame back. 把“It is/was - that”去掉,如果剩余部分句子结构仍然完整,那么这个句子就是强调句;如果句子不完整,则不是强调句。,主语从句,强调句型,注意下例两组句子:,It was midnight when he came back.,It is the classroom where we will have the tes

11、t.,It was at midnight that he came back.,It is in the classroom that we will have the test., It iswasthat强调句型的被强调部分如果是原因状语从句,只能由because引导,不能由since、as或why引导。,It was because the water had risen that they could not cross the river.,注意 “ not . until ” 在强调句型中的变化。,Remember the following:,He didnt come bac

12、k until 9 oclock.,It was not until 9 oclock that he came back .,Not until 9 oclock did he come back.,reciting, 如果是特殊疑问句,要用“特殊疑问词+is/was + it + that +”的结构来表达.,Who was it that you want to see?,Where was it that you saw the teacher?, 强调句型高考考点,1)强调句型与定语从句合用, 增加试题迷惑性。,It was on the day when he joined the

13、 Party that he was killed. 他正是在入党的那天被杀害的。,定语从句,It was in Beihai Park _ they met for the first time _ the old couple told us their love story. A. where; that B. that; that C. where; when D. that; when 该题中“they met for the first time”为被强调部分“Beihai Park”的定语,(,),2)强调句型与宾语从句合用,强调句型 用于宾语从句,为一大热门考点。例如:She

14、looks sad. Could you please tell me _ that prevents her from being as happy as before?A. what it is B. it is what C. how it is D. it is how,(,),【2】用“助动词do/does/did + 动词原形” 来强调谓语动词。,Do be careful! He did tell me the news. She does love talking.,有人称和数的变化,【3】用“主语从句+be+被强调部分”结构进行强调,主语从句常用what引导。,(1)John

15、 wants a ball.,What John wants is a ball.,(2)Mary gives piano lesson every day.,What Mary does every day is (to) give piano lessons.,【4】用“all sb do + be + 被强调部分”结构进行强调.,She wanted to know whether her son had got well.,All that she wanted to know was whether her son had got well.,【5】颠倒正常语序的手段来进行强调。,(
