She joined the orchestra and played her first year successfully. But then she found out that she would be playing second trombone, basically becau

16、se she was a woman. Conant took the orchestra to court ( 法庭). Though the orchestra said that Abbie Conant was not strong enough to play first trombone, she won. It took her years to prove herself in the eyes of the law, but she did it. The orchestra then refused to pay Conant the same as men players
