Actually, this is a preconception and stereotype but why does this kind of stereotype exist?As far as I am concerned, international trade is the biggest factor accounting for these.We are

3、familiar with the imported products from France including not only material consumption goods but also spiritual ones. There are quite a few famous daily necessities and luxuries of French brand: we pursue fashionable dress and bags with excellent design; we trust perfume and cosmetics of famous bra

4、nd; we appreciate the mellow taste of red wine. We also enjoy good film, music, literature and art from France. Its no wander that we relate these visible and distinct characteristics like romance, elegance and luxury to French people. Secondly,mass media plays an indispensable role in spreading inf

5、ormation and reshaping peoples thoughts. For example, some products and tourism propaganda on television, Internet, books, magazines etc. usually emphasize the romantic feature of France. Moreover, reasons of politic and diplomacy, communication studies and psychology can account for the stereotype as well.
