10、s.At the age of 15,he joined the Union Navy during the Civil War.After his military service in 1865,Latimer was employed as an office boy at the patent attorney office of Crosby and Gould in Boston,where he learned mechanical drawing.In 1876,Latimer was hired by Alexander Graham Bell to create the d
