There has been a lot of talk about white and blue collar workers, and you may have even heard of gold collar workers, but lately a new color of collar is making its way into China’s urban vernacular(方言 )—green.Green collars say no when work is life and life is work. They choose to get out of the fast lane, and explore new ways of living “green”.Living green doesn’t mean someone is working as an environmentalist, biologist or scientist.Instead,it is more of a lifestyle choice.A typical green collar is welleducated like a white collar but physically tough like a blue collar, likely born in the 70s or 80s and living in one of China’s big cities, with a monthly income well above 5,000 yuan. The life of a green collar may go something like this:turn off the mobile phone after work, eat only healthy food rich in vitamins,go out on hikes every weekend, and like to help the_underprivileged.Green collars even have their own club.In Beijing, the Green Collar Club is for people who share a “be happy, healthy and helpful”spirit. The club often holds charity parties and uses the donations for environmental protection and poverty relief projects in China.“They are successful in their careers, but do not miss the pleasures in life. They have a lot of money, but do not fall slave to it, ”said Zuo Shiguang, one of the founding members of the club.【解题导语】 本文介绍了当今中国大城市中新兴的“绿领”一族的生活方式。1.What is the text mainly about?A.The appearance of gold collar workers.B.The increasing awareness of environmental protection.C.The lifestyle of green collars.D.New trends in big cities of China.C 2.Green collars are living green because________.A.they devoted themselves to environmental protectionB.they spend a lot of time in the openC.they refuse to live an unhealthy lifeD.they have a large incomeC C。3.Which of the following best describes Zuo Shiguang’s attitude towards green collars?A.Scolding. B.Appreciative.C.Doubtful. D.Neutral.B 解析:推理判断题。 B。4.The underlined part “the underprivileged” in the third paragraph probably refers to those________.A.in unfavorable conditionsB.in faraway placesC.poorly educatedD.in heavily polluted areasA Ⅱ 完形填空A gripping(扣人心弦的) tale that tells the story of a boy’s struggle to learn the it。12.A.recalled B.remindedC.remained D.reusedA 解析:根据下文.their teacher (Syed Ahmad Thani Tuan Hadi) had told them about his younger days. Today, I’m going to share with you a little about the kinds of foods that English people eat.A traditional English breakfast consists of eggs, fried bread, mushrooms, bacon, tomatoes and baked beans, but most English people today prefer a breakfast of hot or cold grain, juice, and a warm drink of either tea or coffee.⑰The English lunch is normally eaten between 12:00 noon and 1:30 pm,⑱ and most often consists of a sandwich. Along with the sandwich, an English person might have a bag of potato chips, fruit or biscuits. A glass of beer might also be added to lunch if the person eats in one of the many pubs; otherwise,a tea or coffee. Fish and chips, often wrapped in a piece of paper, are still a favorite among English dinners.⑲The afternoon tea is simply a time to snack on a bag of potato chips or a few biscuits, and drink a quick cup of tea or coffee. Tiny cakes and sweets are often eaten as well. Tea is also an oldfashioned term for dinner, some English people still say “tea” when they mean the last main meal of the day.⑳第二部分 阅读理解[共两节,满分 40 分]第一节(共 15 小题;每小题 2 分,满分 30 分)阅读下列短文,从每题所给的四个选项(A、B、C 和 D)中,选出最佳选项。AOne day a student was walking with his teacher in the countryside. Then he bent (弯腰) down to feel what it was, and found the coin. Surprised, he looked at the coin, turned it around and looked at it again. He then looked around, but no person was seen. He put the money into his pocket, and continued to put on the other shoe. The parks we enjoy today, however, might not be around without the past efforts of a few people who supported an idea to protect the natural beauty of our country.10One of these people was the naturalist John Muir. In 1867, on his way west to San Francisco, John Muir walked through Yosemite and quickly recognized its incomparable beauty. Muir devoted himself to learning as much about the wilderness(荒原) as he could. Then, he would pass this learning on to others in the many articles he wrote describing the beauty of the area. In order to protect Yosemite from damage, Muir became the voice behind a government bill that would create Yosemite National Park. Soon other bills would follow, and Muir would continue his fight to make Americans understand the importance of protecting the wild. In 1901, Muir wrote a book about the national parks, which caught the attention of people all over the United States, including President Theodore Roosevelt. At a young age, Theodore_Roosevelt_had_shown_signs_of_a_passion(热情)_that_would_strengthen_throughout_his_lifetime. During a trip to North Dakota in 1883 he saw the damage done to the land and its wildlife.Roosevelt would take his ideas about conservation(保护) with him to the White House as the country’s 26th president. He would go on to create the U.S. Forest Service, 150 national forests, and 5 national parks. Roosevelt even canceled a 1903 presidential speaking tour in order to spend two weeks camping in Yellowstone, where he gave a speech calling for its protection. While visiting Yosemite, Roosevelt camped for three days with John Muir, who showed the president around and persuaded him to make Yosemite Valley a part of the larger Yosemite National Park. After the trip, Roosevelt commented that there was no better person in the world with whom to see and appreciate Yosemite. The natural beauty that tourists from around the world enjoy today in the country’s national parks is largely due to the efforts of Roosevelt and Muir, who devoted themselves to an idea that has benefited all people.【解题导语】 本文是说明文。 25.John Muir devoted himself to protecting Yosemite by ________.A.asking Americans to protect the wild11B.learning about the history of YosemiteC.writing articles and putting forward billsD.catching the attention of President RooseveltC 26.What made President Roosevelt have the ideas about conservation?A.A trip with John Muir.B.A trip to North Dakota.C.A presidential speaking tour.D.A camp experience in Yellowstone.B During a trip to North Dakota. the land and its wildlife. Roosevelt would take his ideas about conservation. 27.How does the author support the underlined point in Paragraph 3?A.By explaining how he ran North Dakota.B.By sharing others’ opinions of Roosevelf.C.By comparing his work with that of John Muir .D.By describing the things he did throughout his life.D He would go on to create.he gave a speech calling for its protection 28.We can infer from the text that John Muir and President Roosevelt________.A.enjoyed going camping togetherB.worked together to create all the national parksC.found a connection in their love of the wildernessD.used their fame to bring attention to the environmentC 由倒数第二段的描述以及最后一段中的 due to the efforts of Roosevelt and Muir.an idea that has benefited all people 可知,在 John Muir12与罗斯福总统对自然的热爱中找到了联系。CMeet Liam Mills, the first aid specialist who provides lifesaving support at festivals and events, and he’s just 16 years old.A bit young to be a first aider, aren’t you?You might think that, but in fact I’ve been doing this for almost a year now.
