In an article entitled “Exposing the truth about the link between abortion and cancer,” Chicago Tribune columnist Dennis Byrne writes that the clinic

8、t seen any statistics on this. The situation is similar to smoking. Some smokers will develop lung cancer, and some will not. 14、the facts, is strong. Some people want so strongly to believe something, that they disregard evidence that contradicts what they want to be true. Planned Parenthood says that the World Health Organization, the National Cancer Institute, the American Cancer Society, and Great Britains Royal College o
15、f Obstetricians and Gynecologists also agree that the evidence that an abortion increases the risk of breast cancer, is “inconclusive.” The columnist sarcastically observes, quote, “An impressive lineup, indeed. Almost as impressive as the lineup of the National Cancer Institute, American Medical As
16、sociation and others that for decades found alleged links between tobacco and lung cancer to be also inconclusive. Karen Malec KAIR-en MAL-ek, president of the Coalition
19、on Abortion and Breast Cancer, explains that overexposure to estrogen is connected to the development of breast cancer. Levels of estrogen and other hormones increase substantially during the first and second trimesters5 of a pregnancy, making the breasts grow to prepare to produce milk when a baby
20、is born in a few more months. Early in pregnancy, the breasts contain tissues known as Type 1 and Type 2, which are vulnerable to becoming cancerous when surrounded by so much estrogen. Byrne reasons, quote, “Logically, then, one breast cancer risk aversion strategy is to avoid having an abortion. Another is to breastfeed.” End quo

He notes sarcastically that even clinics that make their living by providing abortions, tell women that breastfeeding helps reduce their risk of breast cancer even though the evidence for it is as “inconclusive” as the connection between cancer and abortion. 那乳房的大部分组织会停留在1型和2型状态，就是比较容易受癌细胞攻击的状态。

27、rtion reduce the risk of breast cancer. The abortion clinics mentioned in this article willingly publicize the fact that breastfeeding seems to reduce the cancer risk. But they refuse to publicize the fact that abortion can increase a womans risk of developing a deadly disease, because this knowledg

And Mrs. Malec makes two other important points. First, teenagers with a family history of breast cancer have a much higher risk of the disease if th

34、an often realizes that the tissue that was aborted from her body, was really a human being. So she experiences a deep sense of guilt for having agreed to have it killed. The guilt has been so intense that many women have become depressed and even suicidal. Others sense a loss of the baby they would
35、have had. One woman aborted one child, thinking she could have others whenever she was ready. But she discovered that the abortion had ruined her reproductive system.
