1、 Aug09 Q.: I want my print/proofing facility to be G7 Qualified. How do I go about getting this accomplished? A.: To have your location become G7 Master Qualified, the following must happen: 1. A G7 Expert must work with you to educate your staff about G7 and calibrate your proofing systems and/or p

If you have your own in-house G7 Professional trained by IDEAlliance, that person can calibrate your systems, but a G7 Expert must review and approve the calibration data to finalize the qualification. G7 Professionals do not need a G7 Expert to review their data for the annual Masters re
3、-qualification. 3. Your company must be a member in good standing of either IDEAlliance or the G7 Network. Q: What is the difference between a G7 Master, G7 Professional and G7 Expert? 1. G7 Master Status is granted to a physical facility, equipment and systems. Example: ABC Printing Companys proofi
4、ng and printing presses have been G7 Master Qualified. G7 Master Qualification is valid for one calendar year and must be renewed annually. Note that this is not a Certification, it is a Qualification. No tolerances are imposed at this time. The program may evolve into a true certification in the fu
5、ture as industry data is gathered to support a certification process. 2. A G7 Professional is generally an in-house quality/technical person who has attended and passed an IDEAlliance G7 Professional Training Seminar. Typically larger print facilities with multiple manufacturing locations may send a
6、 corporate technical person for G7 Professional training. G7 Professional certification is valid for 2 calendar years. An Expert is able to analyze color and print related issues and take corrective action to bring systems
8、and process in control to a set method, standard or specification with repeatable predictable results. Generally a G7 Expert makes his/her living as a consultant to the agency/print/publishing industry. G7 Expert Certification is valid for 2 calendar years. The G7 Expert must qualify a minimum of 3
9、G7 Master Facilities per calendar year to maintain their G7 Expert status. There are two options for G7 Master Qualification Option 1. Hire a G7 Expert Consultant to qualify your proofing/printing system. A G7 Expert Consultant can be found on G7 Experts. These expert consultants are fully trained t
10、o qualify your proofing and printing equipment the requirements to maintain G7 Expert Status has been tightened. To remain a G7 Expert: o The expert must be a corporate member in good standing of IDEAlliance. o The expert must qualify a minimum of 3 G7 Master facilities per year. o The expert must b
11、e re-certified every two years by attending a re-certification class and pass an exam. Aug09 G7 Professional: There is no cap on the number of G7 Professionals. However; the G7 Professional is not allowed to qualify their very first installation for G7 Master. They are encouraged to conduct all the
12、calibration of the equipment, processing of the paperwork and internal management of their process. A G7 Expert, for the initial G7 Master Qualification of the facilitys proofing or printing systems, must review and approve the calibration data and submit the data to IDEAlliance for Qualification. 13、he G7 Professional is able to submit to IDEAlliance after the first qualification subsequent annual re-qualifications. G7 Professional certification is valid for 2 calendar years. To remain a G7 Professional: o The G7 Professional can maintain their certification as long as they remain employed with
14、 the same company as originally certified o Their company remains a member of either IDEAlliance or the G7 Network in good standing. o The professional must be re-certified every two years by attending a re-certification class and pass an exam. o Note: G7 Professionals cannot qualify facilities, sys
15、tems or presses outside of their own company. G7 Master: There is no cap on the number of facilities that can become G7 Master Qualified. To remain a G7 Master Facility: o The facility can maintain their qualification as long as they are annually re-qualified by either an in-house G7 Professional or a G7 Expert consultant. o They maintain their membership in either IDEAlliance or the G7 Network.
