36、ficationA 100 Scope101 The rules in this chapter govern safety hazards,marinepollution hazards and functional capability of systems.Therules include the requirements of Ch.II-2 of the SOLAS Con-vention,and the requirements in MARPOL 73/78 Annex I,in-sofar design and equipment are concerned.A 200 App
37、lication201 These rules apply to ships intended for carriage of liquidcargoes in bulk with a flash point below 60C(closed cup test).Cargoes with a flash point above 60C,where the cargoes areheated to a temperature above their flash point shall be espe-cially considered.For ships intended for carriag
38、e of oil products regardless offlash point the requirements in Sec.2,Sec.3,Sec.4 and Sec.9shall be complied with.Liquid cargoes with vapour pressure above atmospheric pres-sure at 37.8C shall not be carried unless the ship is especiallydesigned and equipped.The requirements shall be regarded as supp
39、lementary to thosegiven for the assignment of main class.202 Oil cargoes and cargoes other than oils covered by theclassification in accordance with this chapter are listed inApp.A and App.B respectively.203 Exemptions from the rules in this chapter may be grant-ed for heated cargoes where found jus
40、tifiable,for instance withrespect to electrical equipment on open decks.204 Oil carriers of 20 000 tonnes dwt and above and all shipsfitted with equipment for crude oil washing shall fulfil the re-quirements for inert gas plants as given in Sec.11.205 Ships for alternate carriage of oil cargo and dr
41、y cargoshall comply with the requirements for protected slop tanksgiven in Sec.12.206 Ships intended to carry liquid cargoes with a flash pointbelow 60C or dry cargo alternatively,shall comply with therequirements in Sec.10.207 Tanks for cargoes with specific gravity exceeding 1000kg/m3,see Pt.3 Ch.
42、1.A 300 Carriage of oil-like substances301 Oil-like substances as defined in MARPOL Annex IIRegulation 14 may be carried under the same condition as oilproducts provided the additional requirements of App.B,A200,Remarks 4)i),ii),iii)and iv)are complied with.A 400 Class notations 401 The mandatory sh
43、ip type and service notation Tankerfor Oil ESP shall be assigned to sea-going ships having inte-gral tanks and intended for the carriage of oil in bulk.402 The mandatory ship type and service notation Tankerfor Oil Products ESP shall be assigned to ships intended forthe carriage of all types of oil
44、products except crude oil.403 The general term combination carrier is applied to shipsintended for the carriage of oil and dry cargoes in bulk.It is as-sumed,however,that dry cargoes and oil cargoes will not becarried simultaneously,with the exception of oil retained inslop tanks.The mandatory ship
45、type and service notation Bulk Carrieror Tanker for Oil ESP(alternatively Oil Products ESP)shall be assigned to single deck ships of single or double skinconstruction,with a double bottom,hopper side tanks and top-side tanks fitted below the upper deck,and intended for the car-riage of oil or dry ca
46、rgoes in bulk.The mandatory ship type and service notation Ore Carrier orTanker for Oil ESP(alternatively Oil Products ESP)shallbe assigned to sea-going single deck ships having two longitu-dinal bulkheads and a double bottom throughout the cargo re-gion,and intended for the carriage of ore cargoes
47、in the centreholds or of oil cargoes in the centre holds and wing tanks.The ships shall comply with Sec.1 to Sec.13 of this chapter,ex-cept Sec.13 when only oil products are carried.404 Ships complying also with the requirements of Sec.14will be assigned the additional class notation BOW LOAD-ING an
48、d/or STL.405 Ships having equipment enabling them to be moored tosingle point moorings,in accordance with the requirements inSec.15 may be assigned the additional notation SPM.406 Arrangements for efficient cleaning of tanks whenchanging from dirty to clean oil cargoes.Ships having cargo tanks,syste
49、ms and cleaning arrangementsatisfying the following conditions will be assigned the addi-tional notation ETC:Tanks shall be designed with smooth surfaces.Under decklongitudinals of slab type are acceptable.Horizontal areason stiffeners and brackets are generally not acceptable.Bulkheads may have hor
50、izontal or vertical corrugations.Horizontally corrugated bulkheads should normally nothave an angle of the corrugations in excess of 45 degreesrelated to the vertical plane,see Fig.1.Bulkheads withlarger angles-but not more than 65 degrees-might be ac-cepted taking into consideration the location of
