Although hyperglycemia is significantly related to CHD, the magnitude of association is unlikely to explain the entire excess risk of cardiovascular disease. Within type 2 diabetics, increased blood pressure and LDL-C and low HDL-C also predict the risk of future myocardial infarction.,
