As I see it, the best thing is to demonstrate that you have done your homework and know all about the firm. You should make every endeavor, for example, to show that you know something about the structure o

Be enthusiastic, let the interviewer know that you are not frightened by new challenges, but are willing to take a crack at anything. 21、ying to swim out to the beacon and back. He must be insane to have committed himself to such a thing, the current is far too strong. I met him on the beach before he set out. I dont mind telling you that I was taken back when he told me what he was going to do. I am a swimmer myself, but I wouldnt a

22、ttempt it. And he didnt look in good condition at all. Far from it. He may have had a good constitution once, but he had clearly let himself go all to pieces. However, it seems like he had no choice. He told me that he had gone broke, not a penny left, and that old Burton would only find him a vacan

23、cy in his firm if he did the swim. That was another surprise. Burton seems such a mild mannered man, kind to everybody. Perhaps he thought the young man would not have the courage, that he would funk it. Then, again, perhaps Burton knew he was sending the young man to his death, but was too cold-blo

24、od to care. It only goes to show how deceptive appearances can be.For my own part, I should certainly hesitate to hire a clerk on his face/appearance alone. Appearances are all too often deceptive. For instance you might well commit an error in judgment if you went by appearances only with people li

25、ke Edward Hyde Burton the character created by Maugham. As far as appearance and manners were concerned Burton seemed a man all of a piece. He was a tiny little fellow with white hair and mild blue eyes. Kind gentle and candid he was described by many as one of the most respectable people on earth.

26、Nevertheless he turned out to be cruel to a friend in need of his help. He insulted and fooled Turner who was down and out and made him commit himself to an insane venture. What was still more surprising was that he was completely in different to Turners death. Theres no doubt that Burton was a cold-blooded man.
